Cambridge English – The most valuable English qualifications in the world
A Cambridge English Certificate is recongnised as proof of your English language abilities by more than 12000 employers, universities and government bodies around the world and as part of the University of Cambridge the exams are recognized globally as the mark of excellence in English.
Preliminary [PET] is an intermediate level qualification in English that opens the doors to opportunities for work, study and travel.
First Certificate in English [FCE] is an exam for people who need to prove they can use everyday written and spoken English at an upper-intermediate level for work or study purposes.
Certificate in Advanced English [CAE] is the leading English exam for professional and academic success. Some British universities accept a grade B CAE as an alternative to IELTS 6.5
IELTS is designed to assess the language ability of people who want to study or work where English is the language of communication. It is recognized and accepted by over 9000 organisations world wide including universities, employers, professional bodies and government immigration authorities.
There are two modules to choose from – Academic and General Training.
IELTS Academic is for test takers wishing to study at undergraduate or postgraduate levels at a British University and for those seeking professional registration. Over 1.4 million candidates take the test each year. A standard level for British Universities is IELTS 6.5
The level of the test
IELTS is designed to assess English language skills across a wide range of levels. There is no such thing as a pass or fail in IELTS. Results are reported as band scores on a scale from 1 (the lowest) to 9 (the highest).
